My hubby and I took a quick week vacation up to Oregon. I must say, it ended way too soon. We enjoyed a lovely but hot Sunday with our daughter in Grants Pass (she cared for our doggie Sofie for the week.) On Monday, we went up to Roseburg and took a scenic drive along the Umpqua River. Tuesday, we headed to Silver Falls, just outside of Salem, and hiked to the first of ten waterfalls. I have not been in the best of health, so we could not hike the almost nine miles to see the rest of them. But we so enjoyed the first waterfall. We continued to Oregon City and stayed with my cousins for three days, visiting Hood River and the Columbia River Gorge (one of our favorite places.)
On Friday, we headed back to our daughter’s, spent Saturday with her, got our Sofie girl, and headed back home on Sunday. We were hoping to escape the heat here in the East Bay Area of California, but wound up in Oregon experiencing the worst heat wave on record. Oh, well. Life is like that. Photos below.
