Poetry is my thing these days. I’ve been on a poetry kick for a long time, both reading and writing. Looking to the greats to glean from their style, use of language, and poetic form, I have several old poetry books which I peruse. My favorite poem is “Sonnet 43” by Elizabeth Barrett Browning. I began memorizing it as a teenager. I need to finish that endeavor. It’s lovely, and it moves me.

How do I love thee? Let me count
the ways.
I love thee to the depth and breadth and height
My soul can reach, when feeling out of sight
For the ends of Being and ideal Grace.
I love thee to the level of everyday’s
Most quiet need, by sun and candle-light.
I love thee freely, as men strive for Right;
I love thee purely, as they turn from Praise.
I love thee with the passion put to use
In my old griefs, and with my childhood’s faith,
I love thee with a love I seemed to lose

Not to sound immodest, but I prefer my own poetry, some of which I am incorporating into the novels I’m writing. Btw, the story of Elizabeth and her husband is one of the true romances of our time.

Not sure what you mean by poetry forms. As for reading some, I’d have to send them to you privately. Not sure how that’s work.
Sonnets, villanelles, rondeaus, are some older forms, newer forms magic 9, Kelly Lune, shaped or concrete poems, acrostics, and such. There are hundreds of poetry forms out there. 🙂 You may email me at kacirigney@gmail.com. I would be glad to send some of mine to you as well.
Ah, kinda thought that’s what you meant. No, I do not strictly follow poetry forms except for haikus. I do stress meter and rhyme and like to work with various rhyme schemes such as ABBAc. I often write lyrics for music so that guides things, too. As for email, I prefer not to, especially to a gmail account (Google stores every full email and I’m rather cautious about such things).
