What are your biggest challenges?
Being a good friend and subscriber that responds to emails is a challenge. The problem is the 200 + emails I receive each day. I can’t open them all, read them, answer them, and encourage each writer as is my want.
As challenging as this is, I want you to know that as I receive your emails, I think fondly of you. I pray you are successful. That your words count, and speak to the reader. That your poetry and prose touch lives just as I strive to do.
Wishing you all a wonderful New Year!
I came by to wish you a great day Kaci 🥰
To reply directly to your topic, that is true, having 200+ emails to reply too is definitely time consuming and it’s even more of a challenge if you are involved with something that specifically requires you to interact with as much of them as possible. In such case, it my require the help of a team of people specifically dedicated to replying to those emails around the clock, pretty much Organization or Business-level communications stuff 😅😅.
But putting some kind of disclaimer or notice out (like this helpful explanation that you have provided in this topic) that lets people know that it’s impractical for you to reply to all 200+ emails and messages you have on a daily basis especially with all of the other stuff you have going on but that you greatly appreciate them and will always try your best to reply to as many as you can, but not to feel that you are avoiding anyone if they don’t hear from you all the time, does help.
Wonder New Year to you too my friend 🎇😄😆🙌🎉
Thanks for commenting. I appreciate you. A team would be nice. Haha! Or at least two or three of me.
Building a platform is not an easy task. Engagement with my readers and with other writers is crucial. But sometimes it’s overwhelming. Publishers use to just want excellent writing, now one needs 10,000 followers, and engagement with your readers so they know you can sell books. I’m no way near that mark, and just thinking about it makes my mind spin.
I can and will do what I can do. 🥰
Thank you. Blessings for your day!
Awwww, you are welcome Kaci 🫶🤗💙
Indeed, 3 of you would rock too LOL.
I do generally believe that though dedication, commitment and experience you will likely find the optimal approaches that help you navigate the situation and will fit or compliment the kind of lifestyle you truly want to have.
Speaking for me personally, I really cherish your creations because I can feel and see the passion and joy in being able to do the things you love to do but I definitely understand your point about the other side of things that can be overwhelming when you have to deal with quotas and statistics etc, because the talents and passion you have is within your heart, but some of these other things are not so much within your control.
It would have been different if you do nothing but acting, or do nothing but singing, or do nothing but writings full-time, all day everyday and everything you do revolved around these things for all your life, but in your case that’s not quite how things are right now.
I know your heart is in the right place and you will get to where you need to be because of your integrity, focus and the fact that you are such a cutie-pie 😁😆🌹💖. I know you will do what you have to do and where ever that leads you, I know it will be a blessing from GOD ☺️😘🙏🙏.
Aw, thanks! Now if I could only be paid for my 6-8 hrs a day “work”. Haha!
I do love what I do. And hope people are blessed by what I write. Off to it.
Have a fabulous day!
You are welcome 🌹☺️
Haha, that is a really good point Kaci. A similar train of thought also crossed my mind about the financial incentive aspect. It would be great if you are paid well for the work your putting into something that feels more like a career and not just a hobby 💸😄💯.
Amen to what you said about loving what you do and hoping that what you do is a blessing to others; things take time but that attitude does go a long way 😇😇🙏.
Thanks, yesterday was a cool day lol. I hope yours was great and I hope you have a beautiful day today Kaci 😆🤟
Thank you my friend! You too. 🤓☺️
Haha you are welcome 🥰🥰, take care sweetie
I too get close to 200 emails a day with a good half that are Newsletters I subscribed to. At my church I had 4 different group/class leaders put out a poll/survey that had to do with our email habits. about 75% admitted to never reading any Newsletters they get. That broke my heart as a writer who hears ALL the time. “As an author you NEED a newsletter”. I think the industry needs to rethink that because in my neck of the woods newsletters are deleted with having never been opened.
Anyway…Happy New Year!
I get it. It’s disheartening.
I write them and hope they are read. I try to read as many as I can, but I need to have time to write. It’s a catch 22.
Happy New Year to you too! I know the difficulty of being flooded with mails, everything that you want to read. I prefer checking the reader and getting my updates on latest posts by my favorite bloggers. That said, just keeping the blogging on is a challenge that I have faced. I have been maintaining my Instagram handle through out the year and resorted to updating my blog only few months a year. Hoping 2025 is the year where I write more 🙂
Yes! Writing more is a goal for me as well. I now have a Substack page and I post twice a week. I’m going to try to post here at least twice a week as well. My other social media pages were quite neglected last year. Seems there is just not enough time to accomplish everything I feel is necessary. Well, here’s to us! Let us put forth the effort and make it so! Blessings to you for the new year. Thanks for reading and responding.
Thank you so much! Here’s wishing you all the very best for everything that you endeavor to establish!
Thank you!
