Golden Ribbons
Pulled the ear
Off the stalk.
Removed the golden ribbons,
Layers upon layers;
The topaz
jewel tones
of the corn on the cob set
my mouth watering.
Splash and rinse,
Pin the ear,
butter, and salt, and pepper;
A smile on my face.
