Another fun Sunday Whirl Wordle:
Prompt words: whisper, night, dreams, creamy, crisp, script, brisk, crush, dim, seeds, dust, shimmer
I must say, creamy was the word that stumped me. I managed to find it a place, though I feel it a bit awkwark. I also found my meter moved from an iambic to a trochaic foot within the tetrameter. Frankly, it was off a lot. LOL. Anyway, another challenge complete! Hope you enjoy!
Words Wrought Fear
I read the words in the dim light.
Dust motes shimmered from the pages.
Seeds of doubt whispered in the night,
Words crisp from the script of sages.
Brisk scenes reminded me of dreams
Crushed by anxiety and fear.
Why were they crushed by evil schemes;
Not encouraged by words of cheer?
Why must bitterness keep my dreams?
Why must the sages be so bold?
Dreams should be creamy like ice creams,
Not fraught with fear, like a soul sold.

I used to use word lists like to to write short stories but wow I can see how this would be hard with poetry. But I also don’t understand anything about correct poetry writing. My brain just does not grasp onto all the info on writing poetry. Its way over my head like all advanced math is LOL.
Girl, do I ever get the math reference! LOL Even though I have been writing poetry for five decades, I have only been writing poetry forms and literary devices since 2020. Since then, I have learned about 500 different forms. That certainly doesn’t mean I am a master at it. Forms and literary devices are puzzling to many. And many people only write free verse and don’t like form at all. I love both. I’ve been writing workbooks, and I’ll be putting courses together to teach in the next few months or so. (If I ever get them done!) LOL
I had no idea how complex poetry can be until I discovered your content. I am in awe of your talent with poetry. You will be a great teacher of the course when you get it up and running.
Aw, thanks so much. I so appreciate that. I could use prayer as I work to complete it and figure out how to get students.
Will be praying for this new adventure 🙂
Thank you so much
Beautiful piece, Kaci!
Thanks so much
