So this is a fun prompt. Check it out on my friend David’s page and write a poem based on it before next Tuesday.
Here’s mine with a nod to Elizabeth Barrett Browning.
Count the Ways
How do I love thee?
Let me count the ways.
With one happy heart,
two smiling lips,
three morning kisses,
four eyes from glasses
five written songs
an amazing sixth sense
seven days a week
eight times three hours
How do I love thee?
How about always!”

Makes me want to add, “And a partridge in a pear tree”!! Haha!!
Note: Sorry it’s been so long. The death of my sister-in-law (in June) has really thrown me.
Grief is a thief and a ghost that haunts for a long time.
Good news: I got an acceptance letter yesterday for one of my poems to be printed in a book. That’s the 6th book this year. Woo-hoo!
I loved your charming way of portraying love, with tenderness and a touch of humor. I’m so sorry about your sister-in-law; grief takes time. And congratulations on your new book—six books in a year is a wonderful achievement!
Thanks so much for your encouragement and sympathy. It’s been rough, but I’m writing – a lot, which helps with all the feelings.
