Vacation Anyone?

Vacations have been strange this year. I am sure we aren’t the only ones having this issue. My health has not been the greatest, with 15 months of migraines and now a hip issue. It has been challenging, to say the least. Add COVID to the equation, then the rioting and our two week trip to Chicago had to be canceled. My husband is on vacation this week, but we haven’t gone anywhere as the Bay Area is on Red Alert again. We have tried to keep a positive spirit about it all, but not having a real vacation in two years has been a bit disappointing. We get the time off but can’t go anywhere. We have, instead, worked on our yard and rearranged the house. After a while, we get a bit stir crazy. I know I am preaching to the choir, so to speak, but sheesh! I want to go somewhere!
I am thankful Kev still has his job amidst all the layoffs. He traveled for work; now, he works remotely. I get to have him home, which is fantastic! We get along so well. He’s such a great guy. I must say, I am blessed. We laugh at the same things; we finish each other’s sentences. We are happy, sappy love birds.
We just want to go somewhere, love on our grandbabies, hug, and kiss our daughters (and their husbands.) I know there are so many in our proverbial shoes. I will take a moment today to pray for those in the same storm as we are–maybe not in the same boat, but the same storm. As we go about our lives, we tend to only look at our troubles. Today, I will challenge myself to pray for others facing some of the same difficulties I am facing–intercede for them. As grandma used to say, “This, too, shall pass.”
