Playtime

Do you play in your daily life? What says “playtime” to you?

I met a lady on a flight that said, “I’ve never worked a day in my career. I play.” She went on to tell me that she absolutely loved what she did for a living, thus it never felt like work.

I play a lot, and not just mindless games on my phone.

I’ve always enjoyed my life as a musician. There is a lot of work involved: Music Theory, composition, lyrics writing, figuring out chord progressions, writing a melody that doesn’t sound like everything else out there. Practicing piano, guitar, or other instruments. Warming up my voice – sounds simple, but it’s not. Choosing and arranging music for a concert. Then 15-30 hours to perfect the set.

But it’s fun for me, too. Because it’s something I love!

What do you consider playtime?
