Tracking Traitors

Tracks upon the trail;
The fellows follow
Those who had blatantly
Stolen the shroud.
Cross the countryside,
They track the traitors,
Neath the scorching sun
And the menacing moon.
The symbols of servanthood
Mark their mail and shields.
Spears steady in their hands, they trudge
Through rock slides and rugged landscapes,
O’er waterfalls and wandering rivers,
Cross mountain peaks and perilous cliffs.
A treasure trove awaits them
If the thieves be captured.
Though the promise of peril
Wearies these warriors,
Soon they must sleep.
Danger dogs at their heels.
