I’ve been participating in prompt challenges. My brain happens to take me to strange places. This one, to a fictional crash scene. SundayWhirl.com always has 12 great prompt words. Join in the fun! This week the words are: ravenous, lurked, shame, space, found, glass, hollow, flicker, rattled, slip, red, crash. Here’s the result.
The Crash
Rattled and ravenous,
I slipped out my phone,
The glass, shattered.
Danger lurked.
Red spots?
Blood?
Was it mine or mother’s?
Collapsed space – found her.
Mother was dead.
Where were we?
Brain fog.
Crash.
“You don’t listen to me!”
Words echoed, flickered.
My soul hollow.
Shame slipped in.
Piercing
Pain.

Thank you!
Thanks.
Kaci, I love your story, ‘The Crash’. It is so relevant to how people are behind the wheel and on the cell phone. It is so dangerous. In the blink of an eye, you look at your phone and a fatal crash can occur.
Thank you for sharing! 💕👏🏽👍🏽
Thanks so much. Phone plus arrogance, not a good combo.
Hay algo en esto que explica exactamente lo que me pasa, quizá en algún lugar metafórico. Un abrazo bien argentino!
Thank you for your response. I hope all is well with you.
