Sofie

Sofie’s cuddled up near me, and we are having a good day. She woke up a little earlier than usual. Believe me, I sure would have liked the extra hour I was hoping for, but up I got anyway.

She follows me around the backyard as I tend my garden, and she sits with me while I write. Each time I get up and walk away, her head pops up, and her ears perk up. She’s my little shadow as I walk around the house, and when she is ahead of me, she stops and turns around to see if I’m coming. This girl loves me, I guess. 😊

As I work, she is snoozing and having doggie dreams making me smile as she makes noises chasing kitties and squirrels in her dreams.

It’s been four years now since she came into our lives, showing up on our doorstep. It’s hard to believe it’s been that long. She sure is a cute little thing.

I’ll be taking down my National Poetry Month 2021 page this evening. If you haven’t had a chance to read it, I hope you’ll take a moment and do so. I so enjoyed the writing process. I wrote the following poem about my little Sofie girl during that time and thought I would share it with you.

Sofie
4/6/2021

Sofie sits
and Sofie sleeps
She chases kitties
runs and leaps
Sofie’s chill
she follows me
wherever I go
for company
Sofie is
a ball of fluff
I’m her friend
seems that’s enough

Blessings,
Kaci
