Living Your Purpose

With a lifetime of loving and studying music, I take joy in entertaining, writing music, collaborating with other artists, and singing various genres of music. These pleasures are incredibly fulfilling. Meeting other musicians is always a joy.

Teaching music, especially voice, was a great source of joy as students grasped the techniques and the thrill of singing, with understanding, while conveying a story so that the emotions in the hearts of those who are listening are stirred.

Singing in choirs, ensembles, schools, senior living communities, hospitals, restaurants, churches, operas, big venues, nursing homes, fairs, family gatherings, CDs, or in the privacy of my own home have been so satisfying. My heart is full of great memories. I have sung for my supper, many a time. 🙂

Photography is another one of my hobbies. I love to photograph the beauty of God’s creation. I’ve shared some of my photos on WordPress, which I hope you will enjoy.

As an artist, I consider myself a romantic, expressing my art in a way that will change someone’s attitude about themselves, about God, and about life.

Now, as an aspiring author, my days are filled with scribbles and clicking merrily on the laptop. I am writing a Christian Historical Fiction, putting together several Poetry Chapbooks, a 30-day Devotional, and a how-to book of poetry. I’m being productive. Sigh. I love the feeling. I know what I am doing is right. I feel the joy of a work well written and satisfying.

“For I know the plans I have for you,” declares the Lord, “plans to prosper you and not to harm you, plans to give you a hope and a future.” (Jeremiah 29:11) Did you hear that? Plans for you to prosper; plans to give you a hope and a future. Sounds good to me.

We all have a purpose. Do you know yours? We all have unique talents, unique gifts, a unique voice. Are you using yours? What if we all used the gift we were given to make the world a better place? Oh, what a beautiful place the world would be! I pray that you find your purpose and live it to the full. Let’s not squander our purpose with mundaneness. Let’s live our purpose to the full.

Hopes are made of dreams, and dreams are our hope for a purposeful life. Dream big…hope, and have faith that what you dream of will come to fruition.
