Self-Love

Elizabeth’s prompt: Love yourself

February is the month of love. Valentine’s Day has just passed, and many of us marked it by expressing affection for partners, family, and friends. But how often do we turn that same attention inward?

This week, the invitation is simple: write a love sonnet to yourself.

This one was a bit awkward for me, but I did my best. Join in the W3 fun!

Self-Love

I find my husband spoils me all the time;
And his support, he offers every day,
Which gives me time for rhythm and for rhyme,
And playing every time I want to play.

So coffee dates with girlfriends, I adore;
He gasses up my car and keeps it clean;
He takes my coat and opens every door;
He reads my writing, even thinks it’s keen.

I guess I’m spoiled, but I can tell you this,
Of all the men in the world, he’s the best!
I’m blessed to have a husband like he is.
He lets me be creative. I attest,

I really don’t know where and how to start.
I’ve made self-love for me works of art.
