Hunger To Hear
From long ago, I hear your voice,
Like an echo inside my heart,
Though you are gone and without choice.
Conversations start,
But you have no part.
Completely gone,
And I’m undone.
I hunger to hear,
But Mom, you’re not here.
Aching, I listen.

Kaci, your poignant poem resonates with me. I lost my mom a few years ago. I think of her here and there. There are so many reminders of her.

Li, I’m sorry for your loss. My mom’s been gone since 2002.
We sang together a lot. I can still hear her harmony.
I’m glad it resonated with you. Thanks for commenting.

Kaci, thank you. I’ve got a long way to go before the pain will be gone. Glad to hear you have that kind of musical bond with your mom. You are welcome.
